Title: Towfish Plans
Post by: depark1 on December 18, 2012, 05:58:03 PM
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would consider sending me build plans for a DIY towfish.  I would like to build one over the winter.  What I need is a material list for all the parts needed.  I would like to use 50m of cable.  Also the dimensions of each part would be great.  I plan on using it with my 998.
Thanks
Darryl

Hi Darryl :)

In rubric - DIY - Side Scan Sonar to towfish - you'll find many different solutions to the towfish construction. The solutions are very different, so you'll find no blueprint with parts list. Also the question on pulling cable was solved very individual.
To specific issues you can ask us every time.

Here is one plan in Finish. Use an 40mm metalpipe, and put 2-3 kg lead in the nose. Fins is made of 2-3mm aluminium.
