Title: Linux Computer - for HumminbirdPC
Post by: chuck41 on March 23, 2014, 11:06:08 AM
I have a Linux computer that I prefer to use for all applications that I can.  I am running "Wine" on it that provides a Windows environment and I have found it works fine for most windows programs, but certainly not all.  Humviewer works fine on it but I am unable to load HumminbirdPC on it.  After I download the program setup from the internet and attempt to run the ".exe" file it just quits.

Is there another trick to possibly downloading the entire HumminbirdPC program initially that I could try to possibly get it to load?  Just downloading the setup file don't do it.  My Wine application is set up to emulate Windows XP as that seems to work for most stuff.  I can configure it for another version of Windows if that might help. I think it can configure it to emulate most anything from Windows 2000 to Windows 7.

Thanks
Chuck

Try to download from my google drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6Z9wNTXyUEebGhKQ2NTTVlXTU0/edit?usp=sharing
unzip the contet onto your drive
then install a JDK1.6SE for linux and try to invoke java application in linux terminal (look inside runHumviewer.cmd)
be carefull because classpath has : instead of windows ;

Today I have decompiled Humviewer.jar file with java decompiler.. I have a project in Netbeans so I can run the Humminviewer from neatbeans and open some file stored on my SD card  >:D

Thanks, but I got the Humviewer to work.  What I can't get to load is "HumminbirdPC".  Humviewer runs great on my Linux machine.  Actually if anything it works better than it does on my Windows Vista computer.

I simply downloaded the windows version under wine and ran the install file. It loaded without a hitch.

Hi:

Did you finally get Humminbird PC to work under Wine?  I have it mostly working except, of course, for the thing that I really want it for - to load up a micro SD card.  Somehow Humminbird PC doesn't see the card from inside Wine.
