Networking a 898 C SI and 999 Ci HD SI Combo together
« on: March 29, 2015, 10:34:08 AM »
Yesterday I was all excited about networking my 898 C Si, 360 and 999 CI HD SI units together via a AS ETH 5PXG 5 port ethernet switch. I installed my network box and two AS EC QDE Ethernet Dongles for the 898 C SI and 999 CI HD SI. However, what I discovered is that the these dongles are 5 pin connections and the network connection on the 898 C SI is a 4 pin. Is there another Dongle out there? According to the package the dongle is suppose to work with 700, 800, 900 and 1100 series.

The Ethernet cable should plug right into the round metal socket in the center of the back of the 898...

This connection was changed in the xx9 series unit to be included in the cable collector for simpler removal of the cables for storage or theft prevention ...

So your 999 will still need the AS EC QDE adapter cable but the 898 will not ...
