I tried to update my 797 this evening. Watched the videos and downloaded new update to sd card. Powered up my unit and restored defaults. Put sd card in and proceeded to update. After lots of flashing , it said update was complete and restarted. Loading came up on screen, then a flash of white, then to black and that was it. Killed power to unit and tried it again with same result. Downloaded old software and tried but unit doesnt recogonize card and wont update. What do I do now????

Welcome tot he forum. Sorry you are having issues with updating. So when you turn your unit on, what do you get?
Did you remove the new update from the SD card when you tried to go back to the old update?

I am in Winfield. I called customer service today. Will ship my 797 back in the morning for updating. Very nice people to deal with. Just wish I would have waited till after this weekend to try and update. Gonna be lost without it but maybe it will be back soon. Remember fishing with my dad with the older flashers. Took him last week and he couldn't believe the detail. It is amazing.

My unit should be at humminbird today. Can't wait to get it back. Almost rather ride and look at si and di images as fish. Really shows you what is there.
