HI im currently using 1198 and a 998
both are hooked to Ethernet and I think im getting crosstalk or something
I wanna separate these two
and unhook the 998 from Ethernet and move its si transducer to rear of boat 19 feet away from 360 unit
I like the 360 but the si beam is clearer in my opinion
and I want to see as much area as possible
I know that these units are supposed to shut down the other si beam when ya engage the 360 that's why I wanna disconnect the 998 from Ethernet
has anybody else tried this
and in your opinion is this 19 feet gonna be far enough away from 360 to get away with this

I've never used Ethernet, but it is designed to hook multiple units together, and share waypoints.
I would first try and upgrade all of the software you can, and if you still have
crosstalk/interference, try and determine the reason.
Is it possible you could be getting interference from a gas and/or electric motor?
These are common problems.
With everything off, but your units, drift around and see if you still have
interference.

I'm thinking with the 360 going and the si going off the trolling motor
The pinging or pings were crashing into each other

Units were updated
Have ferrite rings on both transducers
Positioned as close to humminbirds as possible
The screens on both units look pretty good
As long as you weren't trying to ping with both units at the same time
I'm thinking their to close to each other

I don't have a 360, but I doubt the Ethernet connection would be causing the interference.
It may be possible that the SI is being turned off on the primary unit that is connecting to the 360, but not the other unit??? This is just a scientific WAG...You could try systematically disabling the sonar on the different units to see what happens. All you have to do is press the power button quickly and turn sonar off..... just keep systematically eliminating things to determine the source of the interference.
It is normal that the 360 is not as clear as the SI ..... but it's more about the information you get than about a pretty picture with the 360 ..... If you decide to get rid of the 360 let me know.

If you're using the 1198 and the 998 at the same time ... The crosstalk is happening with the 200kHz overlapping under the boat ...
The only way to eliminate this crosstalk is to shut the sonar off of 1 unit ...
It may be possible to run 360 and 1 of the HDSI xducers at the same time by setting the HDSI "Image Frequency" to 800kHz (360 only uses 455kHz) ...

(http://)once I get transducer moved off of port side trolling motor and moved to transom ill update ya guys on what I get
I like Rickies idea ill mess with settings
this is a unique set up
a si transducer on I pilot I link
(cable run thru head of that trolling motor and cable secured with fastcure 5200 on flat area on shaft and trans shield used on motor for that transducer.
the other s I transducer is attached to starboard side bow
on a old bow mount trolling motor
I cut off motor and shortened shaft
then machined two Teflon pieces to adapt 360 to that shaft
