1199 Shutting off...
« on: April 28, 2014, 09:37:53 AM »
I recently purchased a 1199CI HD SI COMBO to put in place of my 898.  First thing that I did was to update the software on the 1199, I had previously updated the software on my ipilot link with my 898.  When the 1199 is running by itself their are no problems but when I launch the trolling motor and just as  the 1199 is starting to recognize it the ipilot the 1199 shuts down.  What could be causing this?

Welcome to the Humminbird Side Imaging Forums Drowning Worms.

What software version are you running on your 199ci HD Si unit and do you remember what software version it was that you loaded on your i-Pilot Link and its remote?

Drowning Worms,
That’s the current software for the 1199 and i-Pilot Link.  Your controller should have software version 1.150 on it as well.  Not sure what is going on here.  Make sure all Ethernet connections are tight and if it still does it contact the Humminbird Customer resource folks.

Hey Greg
According to the Humminbird website if I am using version 6.900 or higher on my 1199 that I must use software version 2.020 for the remote and 2.050 for the controller.  How do I find these? and is this correct.

Doh!
Yep, with the 6.900 version (or higher) software you have to use a different file set.  Let me check on where you should be getting those from…

Drowning Worms,
The additional files should have showed up in your My Humminbird account but something is amiss with that site right now.  Send me a direct e-mail message with a request for the:

2.020.bin file for the i-Pilot Link Remote (6.900 software)
2.050.bin file for the i-Pilot Link Controller (6.900 software)

I’ll make sure that someone sends you a link back with where to download it from.

Hey Greg

Just an update on the install of the new software.  Ill make it brief.  Tried to install but the install kept failing. Then the trolling motor lost all contact with the remote and the depthfinder.  I contacted Humminbird on Friday and am waiting to hear back from them.

DW,
Did you call Humminbird CRC or did you e-mail them?  I would give them a call back today.

Since I had the original problem on this thread I will let you know what happened (thought I already had).  The controller on my ipilot link got corrupted when the new software was being installed via the 1199.  MinnKota sent me a new controller and I installed it.  The units are working like a champ.  I would call the customer service desk at Humminbird and make them aware of this problem.  I also have a 898c that I have not reinstalled on the boat.  Maybe I will wait until I see what happens with yours.

I had same problem,  two 788 units one 998 with Link.  with latest updates installed on all units the 788s or 998 would shut down regularly.  I had to degrade the 998 software backwards....problem solved.  Would like to have latest software on 998/link/remote with autochart capabilities but cannot until 788 update comes out.  Hope this helps
