Hi,
I discovered a problem while editing my waypoints (basically creating group names) using the new 6.180 release on my 998c. Basically, the Waypoint Management Feature is accessed by opening the Waypoints, Routes, Tracks menu under the NAV column selection.

What I am seeing is that when selecting a waypoint (from my waypoint list), and that waypoint is near a river structure (displayed on the little map of the waypoint) and the scale of that map is 20 sm, 50 sm, or 100 sm, the river structure part of that map display oscillates (flashes or whatever you want to call it!). Note that the default display size for the Waypoint Management Map is 0.5 sm. Also note that this oscillation only occurs with LakeMaster chips (I am seeing the problem w/ MN 2.0 and WI 2.0) and not my Navionics Platinum North chip 2011. I cannot say which side of the fence (HB or Lakemaster) this problem is on (That's for the HB and/or Lakemaster Gods to figure out!!!). The issue does not appear to be a deal breaker but more "cosmetic" (as far as I can tell).

Feel free to contact me w/ any further questions.

Take care,
Roger

Hi,
I'm amending my previous post w/ additional info (Ohhhhhhh this is really NEAT!!!). It looks like there has to be a Navionics AND a Lakemaster chip installed to see my indicated problem (noted above). When ONLY a Lakemaster chip is inserted (either chip slot - and selected) the problem I noted does not occur. When BOTH a Lakemaster chip (either chip slot - and selected) and a Navionics chip are inserted, the problem occurs. IT LOOKS TO ME THAT A PORTION OF NAVIONICS MAP SET (IE. RIVER INFO) IS BEING OVERLAYED ON TOP OF THE LAKEMASTER CREATED LAKE MAP. All other setup conditions (noted in previous post) are the same. Based on this new info my guess is the problem lies w/ HB.

Take care,
Roger

Hi,
I tried a couple of other ideas on my 6.180 release/998c problem this morning (boat in the garage/ice on most lakes (at least for today - MN you know!)). It looks like the LakeMaster chip (slot) has to be "selected" (Via "Map Select" - either slot) and the Navionics chip has to be (then) "connected". If the Navionics chip is "selected" and the LakeMaster chip is then "connected", the problem DOES NOT occur.

Greg: If more information is needed you can have the Engineering Dept connect w/ me via PM.

Take care,
Roger
