Post by: wrogersjr@aol.com on June 13, 2013, 12:16:59 AM
I have a Rip Tide-ST I-pilot gps trolling motor. How do you convert it to a I-pilot-link. Do you just buy a new remote control or can you make the one, that came with the minn kota work.Any help woud be greatly appreciated.

It looks like it is a new module for your Riptide St and a new remote:

I have an 898c si HB and Riptide-st I-pilot. I was wondering what good the I-pilot link system would be if Lakemaster doesn't  have a map for my area(Souh Carolina).  What can you do without the digital map?  What is the benefit of having it without the map?

From what I have experienced with the link, The most important feature is the ability to use the HB to set-up and view all the info concerning course and waypoints. I very seldom used tracks and spotloc locations before I could see them on the finder. It works well with any Navionics map. Follow the contour would be nice but without the Lakemaster "HD" map it is not possible. Non "HD" maps are not accurate enough to make that feature useful. Bob
