360 specifications

Is the HB unit capable of recording the 360 scan. If so what program is available for review or are we stuck with unit playback?

I would be that you can record it.  I would think the demo mode is playing a recording.....haven't seen anyone specifically say that though.

Hi,

I suppose you can Record the 360 and they have added some additional data stream to the recording files, e.g. The angle of the transducer in order to align the Data recorded to the 360 screen.

The only program I currently know beging capable to show a 360 Screen is drdepth, but only together with its own DIY 360 solution (Polulu Maestro Controller), but perhaps Per can / is willing to adapt DrDepth to the humminbird 360 solution Recording files...

Opening a Humminbird 360 recording in any other viewer will most likely end up in looking on many continuously turns :-)

Hi

It is incredible, that HB still has not own review software. :(
Should take example on LOWRANCE.

all of the sonars we use (6) have factory viewing programs other than a playback on the unit.. HB is the only one that doesn't.  Chuck

No you cannot record the 360 Imaging sonar data.
Humminbird does not have a PC based sonar viewer.

Hey guys, I was informed that you cannot record the 360 Imaging sonar data.  I went back and edited my post above.

Greg,
Is the reason being: There's just too much information
there, and it would quickly fill up an SD card?

Even if you could record the 360 information, it would be pretty hard to display on a map. Like DrDepth can do.
Since the scanning is done in rotation and you move with the boat, all you would see on the map will be mostly a blur.

Tell me again.
What is the purpose of the 360?
I can see where it would not fit into mapping but why would we not want to be able to record and play back or view?

On another thought...has any one got a 360 yet.  Heard there was some issue with getting one..
I did notice that the HB site now has 4 mounting brackets for the 360.. Maybe we have to get one of them before the 360....

Greg,

I think (my opinion here) that the reason for this is that the 360 Imaging is data from an accessory (remember, this is not just another Si transducer cabled or switched to and from the unit) over the Ethernet connection.  You can’t record shared sonar either and this is basically what the 360 Imaging is doing: sharing sonar data.

We have been shipping the 360 Imaging accessories for a few weeks now (not sure when we started).  Roddy’s may or may not be on its way to the dealer he ordered it from.

Interesting .... I was thinking this would be a bow mount.  Never thought about the transom.  By all means keep us updated.
Have we determined if the picture can be snapshot and if recording and reviewing is possible..

as far i can tell the unit wont record the 360 but does take snapshots. i see no reason why the 360 could not easily be mounted on the bow.it just needs to fold down for high speed.im going to modify my bracket later, so it will tilt forward. it wont go under my garage door as it is
