S I in deep water
« on: March 16, 2010, 10:08:46 PM »
How do I adjust the si and di to read detail in 80" to 140"  ?  This is how it currently reads. I tryied switching resolution (455 to 800) but it did'nt make a difference.

Mike,

You should be getting better images than this, especially with 455khz.  You should notice a big change when switching between the two.

What are your settings?
SI enhance? Sensitivity? Contrast? etc.

Is this a recording?  And if so, pause the playback and play with some of the settings and see what you get.

Thanks Robert.  It is just an image. Can I only see adjustments on recordings? I really probably need alot of "seat" time to figure this out!

No, You can see the settings in live view as well.  It would be good to have the recorded data from that trip so you can see what is going on with the unit.

Are all your images this dark?

I tend to adjust the Si sensitivity to 20 at this depth. As Robert suggests, recording your runs and then adjusting the settings on 'replay' is a great way to learn what works best at which depth. I do find that at extreme depth, one of my transducers works better than the other (they're both at identical angles), but as I am getting workable pictures down to 210 feet, I can't complain.

My images go dark like this around 80' so I'm thinking  I just need to play with the settings as you suggested.
