I just got a solix 12 gen 2 and a ultrex msi. Since I'll have a mega plus transducer that came with the new solix . can I connect that in the rear to my gen 1 solix. For maybe a better image even if not a mega plus image.

Yes that will work and you get better images because you are using the higher Frequencies. I believe that the only thing you don't get is the extra depth and distance that the gen 2 Solix has. I have the gen 2 transducer on my Solix gen1 and it is a much better image.
