HD stand for network or something like that. Nothing to do with Lakemaster cards.

register your product from HB and check your software update description. if it says, compatible, it will be.

Humminbird have not made the latest update available for Non HD 798 unit,  so I guess is Humminbird's answer to your question.

I can’t (but I am because you asked) as I have not tried using an AutoChart map on a non-HD version 798 unit yet.  It may be awhile before I can try this (busy with regular work duties…).

  HB support told me it will not work on a NON HD 798 unit even with workaround
I have now got  a new 798ciHDsi  and it works on this unit
