Hello from the German outpost
« on: April 01, 2009, 05:47:36 PM »
Time to break the ice I think, since there are so many members, but no posts so far in this forum (besides Robert's).

My name is Harald Kiesling and I was born and grew up here at the beautyfull Lake Constance. I'm 45 years old, married and have two daughters (6 and 9).
My dad taught me to dive when I was six years old and he taught the hard way, which means, if I screwed up while diving with him, I got my ass whooped later on shore. So no place for mistakes. When my Dad went diving with his club in the sixties and seventies, they weren't looking for fish, but went treasure hunting for the stuff which was dumped in the lakes and ponds in our area at the end of WW II. They met on sunday mornings at their clubhouse and were mostly accompanied by wives and kids. So I got introduced to treasure hunting on my first days.

In 1999 I bought an under water metal detector (EBINGER 722) and from the first dive on, things changed dramatically what the success of the treasure hunt concerned. No gold and jewels, but loads of ordnance and ammo. There is no end in sight with that stuff, but I'll keep on searching.
ONE DAY I'LL FIND SOMETHING OF VALUE! I hope....

Now with the SI unit I'm pretty positive to find more interesting stuff than before. Having seen the pictures and reading through the posts in other forums, I'm deeply impressed about this technology and look forward to use it as soon as the boat is rigged up and the weather is better.

I hope my English is good enough for you guys to understand what I'll write here in the forums.

Best regards from Germany

Harry

Dammit!

I knew I forgot something late last night  ::).
Here's one of my favorite pics taken in the deserts of Saudi Arabia three years ago.
