998si side scan (only 262 and 455 kHz no 800 Khz)
« on: December 09, 2013, 04:06:00 AM »
Hello,
I have bought second hand 998si unit..
In the manual I have read that you can switch between 800 and 455 Khz for side imaging..
I have only 455 an 262 Khz to select from menu... ?!
Why there is no 800 Khz option?  (it's maybe the transcducer question? can anybody explain me if oldies models of 998 comes with transducer (455/262 kHz)?

thank you..

Hi Peter

There is an older and a new tranducher. The elderly can only 455 and 262 khz, however the newer 455 and 800 khz.
There is a menu item to select the tranduchers, choose the newer and check if it works. To my knowledge you can see the two transducher not differ externally.

Check your Transducer Select (may be called “Connected Transducer”) menu and set it to the “Hi-Def Sidescan” setting as Rudiger stated.  After that you can change from the 455kHz to the 800kHz Si sonar frequency by adjusting the Imaging Frequency menu.
