What is the maximum size sd card that can be used with the 798?

probably 32gb, but how many hours are you trying to record?

I have no idea, I just got the 798 and couldn't find what size was recommended and worried about getting a card that it would not work with it.

I use 2 cards, one is a 4 gb SanDisk Ultra III for making recordings and the other is the smallest card I could find it is less then 1 gb, I use it exclusively for updates.

After downloading the latest update I copy the older update onto my computer in case I need it, then I erase it from the card so there is no issues.

Note, there have been issues with the fastest SDHC UHS-1 cards. This was discussed a few months ago here:

I'm not sure this is a problem also with the 798, but I would avoid the fastest cards.
