898c SI waypoint "export" not on the menu
« on: May 16, 2012, 10:40:09 PM »
Hi All,

I have had the 898 for a week, have had it out on the water a handful of time and just idled around and have played with the settings, marked some waypoints and now would like to "export" the waypoint to my SD card, I followed these directions:

1.    Power on your unit

2.    Insert an unlocked SD card into a card slot on your unit.  We do not recommend using pre-programmed a map card for this task.

3.    Press the menu button twice

4.    Right cursor to the Nav Tab

5.    Scroll down to Export All Nav Data

6.    Right cursor and select Yes to confirm save tracks, waypoints and routes.

7.    Remove the card from the card slot.

My issue is that #5 on the list above does not exist on my NAV list...So what do I do now?

Version 6.180 is installed on the unit, it came that way...Other than this issue, the unit has worked flawlessly...

Any help to this issue is greatly appreciated...

I think in 6.18 it was changed from those instructions. Try going to Nav tab; cursor down twice to Waypoints, Routes, Tracts; then cursor right from there.
It should be in the choices. Can't get to my unit now, or I'd fire it up to make sure.

I don't know the answer to that. Every place I go, I can pretty much see where I'm at. LOL

Mike,
I'm not sure I understand your answer...

I'm looking for the process of taking the images/video off of the SD card and viewing them in HBPC or anywhere else, like a seperate program...to view them, analyze them and make notes of the area...

Thanks for everyone's help

Gooseman:
What you want to do is to install Humviewer to your PC.
It's free, and you can find the link on this site, just search for Humviewer.
Once installed, start up Humviewer and install your SD card in a card reader and
insert it into your computer.

Then open up (double click on each) of the recorded files (will be in the RECORD folder) on your SD card.
There are a few options in Humviewer.
Best advice is to play around with it.
It's awesome software.
