Networked two 998's
« on: May 27, 2013, 10:22:51 AM »
Just an observation...

I networked 2 998's together and I am just blown away by the sharing of data between the two.  I think this is one idea that HB got right!  A great addition to my toy box.

GPS receivers, transducers, waypoints, AS360, I-Pilot Link and I am sure other things I haven't found yet are accessible from either unit.  I can add waypoints on either unit and they immediately show up on the other unit.  Navigation to the WP works seamlessly as well.

It lets me run a primary unit as SI full screen and the secondary as navigation only or add the high speed transducer.

Since the SI transducers are above the waterline at speed I installed the XNT-9-20 (Per HB Greg's recommendation) on the secondary.  A quick on off of the dual beam XNT-9-20 at throttle up or down  can be accomplished just using the power switch thereby eliminating the interference of the dual beam to the SI when I return to idle or trolling speed

If you have two units that can be networked I would highly recommend it .

Greg
