Sometimes I have to turn my 998 on and off 2 or 3 times because it comes on and says PC Connect on top of screen and won't do anything have to turn it off and back on again. I am also having the same prob with the left side on Si is darker than the right.

Hey Ronnie.... Welcome to sideimagingsoft...

The PC Connect issue has seemed to arisen in some of the newer software versions...

HB is aware of it and they are working on it...

The easiest "workaround" at this time seems to be ....after the unit boots into the GPS disclaimer screen....wait 1.5 to 2 minutes before hitting the "Exit" button...

Something in the new software seems to be causing the unit to take longer to boot into the OS ...and waiting the suggested time allows the unit enough time to completely boot up before having to process any "live" data from xducer's or GPS or etc...

Ronny,
Rickie is spot on with waiting for the unit to finish booting before exiting the disclaimer screen.

For the darker left side Si sonar we need to see if there is anything to the left of your HDSi transducer that could be blocking some of the Si sonar.  Many times it is the motor itself causing this, so the next time out you can try trimming up the motor to see if that helps.  If not; post some pictures of the transom and transducer area of your boat.  We need to see an overall picture of the transom and some from each side of the transom looking across from the left to right side and right to left sides.  These all need to be taken at the same height as the transducer.

I will get some pics when I get home from vacation I have tried with the motor out of the water and no change. Is there a way to turn off disclaimer.

Thanks for the reply
Ronny

There is no way to turn off the disclaimer though the latest version of software (6.680) is supposed to fix this.
