depth setting with Lakemaster chip
« on: March 15, 2014, 06:16:16 PM »

Several months ago I watched an episode of Linder's angling edge where Al was showing a neat thing he could do with a Lakemaster chip in his hummingbird unit.
He said if he wanted to work a depth of 10 ft  mostly for the day, he showed how he could set the 10 foot depth to show up on his chart, in a color that really showed up well on his screen , by only hitting a few settings on his hummingbird 1198 unit.
Could anyone please tell me how to do this? I can not find the show where he was showing this. I have looked through several of his shows on the web to find it, with no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated .
I am not real knowlegeable about the unit so if you can, explain in simple turms.
 Thanks in advance.

I did not see the Linder segment but my Lakemaster user guide says you can highlight 3 depth zones as follows.  Choose a Shallow Water Highlight(red) at say 8ft, and a Depth Highlight(green) of 12ft so that the mid-zone between the shallow red and deep green is the useful info you want.  In this case water between 8ft and 12ft would be clearly delineated.

Where are the places where I can highlight them? Under what settings? I know very little about the unit, sorry that I'm not more familiar with it , but have not had much time to familiarize myself with it yet. But I will learn it.

I really don't know where these options are located.  I just got my Lakemaster card and have not installed it in my 999 yet.  They shouldn't be hard to find.

Thanks for the help, I really appreceiate it. I watched the video, and it explained everything I wanted to know. I did, go to the Lakemaster  web site and it was pretty helpful also. I was told that you get a small book to explain the way Lakemaster chips work, but I didn't get it brand new , so I had not literature.
Thanks again for the imformation, it has been very helpful.

You can find a manual under the LakeMaster Support Tab-FAQs and search for Product Manuals:

Here's a link to the page for the link to the on-line manual:
