Title: Reef Master Verses HB Autochart?
Post by: Mainer on May 12, 2014, 09:27:02 PM
The majority of my boating is done on Maine's fresh water lakes. Unfortunately there is not much electronic chart coverage for the lakes I boat on (just the shore line outline).

So I'm considering the purchase of a software package that will enable me to generate my own charts. My question is: Reef master verses HB Autochart for use on a new 999 unit. Any and all input, observations, experience, recommendations, etc..... is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mainer

AutoChart will allow you to produce an actual map that you can view on both your PC and on your Humminbird unit.  This map will be able to interact with the Humminbird unit and a Minn Kota i-Pilot Link, just like a LakeMaster map would (follow the contours, lake level offset, depth highlight, shallow water highlight).

OK, Autochart will create an actual chart that can be used on both the HB unit and my PC.

While working with the chart on my PC can I print a hard copy of the chart on paper?

Print. Prints the map displayed in the AutoChart main window. Note: To print high
quality / high resolution maps, first create the map with Tools/Create Map Image and
then print the generated image.
