Title: Networking 2 988's
Post by: Rmax on February 12, 2011, 08:06:45 PM
I have 2 998 SI units and each has their own 2D, Side Scan and GPS antenna.  Which network link option should I use to work best.  If I chose the option that comes up 1st, I start losing temp sensors on the drivers unit.  I believe it's fully participate.  Any suggestions how to make  each units transducers and sensors work only with that unit but share way points?  What's the best minterlink option for this?

Thanks,

Randy

Randy,
The participation level you select for the InterLink should not affect the transducer or water temperature on either unit as the InterLink does not share this information.  Make sure that the water temperature is selected in each unit in the Select Readouts menu.

Greg,

Sometimes it shows up on the menu and other times it doesn't.  It really seems that the interlink causes a difference.  If I turn on the console units 1st it works but after I turn on the bow unit, it won't.  At that point is doesn't show connected for some reason. It's driving me nuts and really need the temp to work this time of year.  I'm almost to the point of putting a separate temp gage in.
