Issue with 5.32 update
« on: February 13, 2011, 11:07:23 AM »
Updated yesterday, taking care to return to defaults beforehand. Everything works fine except for down imaging. It works okay in split screen views, but when I select it on its own, the screen just flashes betyween blank and the next screen option. Anyone else had this problem?

Can I re-install from the SD card, or do I need to connect to a computer? If the latter, it will have to wait until the next update, as I don't have the lead.

Kevin, I would delete the current file and download again.  sometimes the files just dont come across as they should.  Not sure why that is.
I have seen where the download seems to go  ok but problems after installing.  I would try the download again.

Installing from the card should be fine and I would hold off on the cable and doing the install from the HBPC program for a bit.

Try the re-install and lets see what happens...

Kevin,

You will need to delete the current file off the Sd card, and put the previous update on there.  Do a normal software update with the old file.  Then, delete that file off the SD card and put the new one back on and do the update again.

Make sure to follow the proceedures step by step.

Good Luck,

Reset my defaults and problem back again! Went back to manufacturer's defaults and all okay. Turns out that the issue re-occurs when I set either (or both) Si and Di sensitivity to 'auto'. System fine when they are adjusted manually. This must be software glitch.

I dont remember having this issue, but I can almost guarantee I didnt try DI only.

Il hook up myunit when I get home tonight and let you know.

Im assuming since the boat is not in the water, that the DI view should at least come up, even if it doesnt show anything on it, assuming I hook up the xducer and gps module as if it were in the water.
Hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave.

Glad it's not just me- not a quick or easy process sending a faulty unit back from the UK.

Having the same problem with my 1197 and 998. Problem only occurs when the sensitivities for the down and side imaging are set to AUTO.
Has to be a glitch in the update.

I bought my 898cSI last spring and just did the update (5.410) and had the same problems that you guys mentioned with the update. I did the change from auto and bam it was fixed. My full screen down scan also dissappeared also but reappeared after I changed from the auto position to one up. I always visit this site but never joined. I did now because of this fix you guys figured out. Thanks a lot! I still need some help but that's for another day.

Our 1197 was made in 2009.  It does not have the above problems.  Wonder if this is something in the internal software (for newer units) and brought on by the changes in the 5.3........
Any one else with a 2009 or older having these problems.
I thought about this some more.
We dont see any of the reported problems that have occured over the last year of posts.
Makes me wonder about 2010 and above mfgd units and the operating code within.
