Title: New Boat Owner with Questions

Hi All,
I'm brand new to this group and have already gained some valuable information from the Humminbird Forum on Bass Boat Central. I just purchased a 2005 Skeeter SX 190 with 2004 Yamaha 150 VMax with jack plate. I'm considering purchasing the 597 ci HD DI and would like some feedback from owners of boats similar to mine regarding the effectiveness of a "shoot through hull" installation of the transducer. Are you satisfied with your down imaging readings or have you switched to a transom or jack plate mount due to unsatisfactory readings through the hull?
