Title: 1198c si transducer shared with 1158

From what I have seen on posts is that I can share my 1198 si tranducer with my 1158c di unit. If this is done does the 1158 have the ability to see side images or is it stictky a down image unit. Thanks

If it's a down-imaging only model, it won't have the
programming code and/or internal hardware
necessary to use the side-imaging (not sure if hardware other than
the transducer is different from side-imaging models).

With the Transducer Select menu (or it may be the Connected Transducer menu in your unit) set for the standard Down Imaging transducer; I don’t think that you will have the software code to share any sonar to/from your 1198 unit.  That may change though if you select a different transducer in that menu.  I don’t have an 1158c DI unit to try this with but believe that is how it works.  In any case you will not be able to display the 1198’s Si sonar on your 1158c DI unit.
