Title: 1198 vs 1158

what if any are the differences between the 1198hdsi head unit and the 1158hddi ?
processor? options?

in other words do the head units basically  function the same?
.........if i added my spare HDSI transducer  to an 1158 HD unit would it function same as a1198HDsi
and the appropriate menus appear on head unit ??
ia ask as the 1158 is considerably cheaper..

I think the main difference is screen size.
Bigger screens are much more expensive.
I'm not sure if the CPU is different or not.
I would assume that the 1198 CPU is more
powerful.

From what has been posted before..... NO

Changing the transducer WILL NOT turn a Down Imaging unit into a side imaging unit....

+1 what strawdawg said.........I also believe the 1198 and 1158 have the same size screen.

The difference is no 360 or Side Imaging and the power output on the 1198 is higher.  Everything else is pretty much the same.

No just adding the transducer will not change it over.  The electronics are also slightly different as well.
