I currently have a 998HD, 1198, and 958 networked through a 5 port switch (note: all xx8 series). If I replace the 998HD with an 1159 and add a trolling motor mount 360, all running through my 5 port switch, will the 360 display on the 1159???
Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

Greg can verify, but YES.
Is this the old style Ethernet switch or the newer http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-ETH-5PXG/ (http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-ETH-5PXG/) .

It's the old 5 port switch, not the XG.

HMMM... I know the Onix and 360 have issues if not using the new switch ..... Maybe Greg can clarify if the new switch is recommended with the x9 series and 360.
My guess is that you should upgrade to the new switch. Humminbird changed to "multicast" Ethernet in the newer software releases, and I think the speed of the new switch may faster also.

The ONIX and ION units have to use the newer 5PXG switch and the core units would be more reliable with it versus the older 5PS switch, but I’ve not heard that it is mandatory. The more load you place on the older 5PS switch though the more of a performance difference you would notice if you upgraded to the 5PXG switch and you sound like you will have it loaded down pretty well.
