Johnson acquires LakeMaster 7/11/2011
Johnson Outdoors, parent company of Minn Kota, Humminbird and other brands, today acquired Waypoint technologies, maker of LakeMaster, a premier brand of high-definition electronic lake charts. LakeMaster's primary following is among northern anglers in the U.S.
The asset purchase includes Pro Map Technologies – the LakeMaster proprietary inland water-survey techniques and bathymetric data-processing technology. That'll provide future exclusivity of an expanded portfolio of LakeMaster digital maps for Humminbird fishfinders.
Details of the transaction were not made public.
LakeMaster will continue to operate from its facility in Little Falls, Minn. and be integrated within Johnson's Marine Electronics business.
