Title: Humviewer and Windows Vista 64
Post by: pmburesh on January 17, 2010, 08:27:58 AM
For those that are having trouble running Humviewer and Windows Vista 64 bit, here is the work around, at least it worked for me. Click the Start button and go to control panel. Under control panel go to System and open. On the left side of the window click on advanced system settings. Click continue and a new box will open, system properties. Click the advanced tab and then click on the Environment Variables. Under user variable look to see if the path to Java is there, mine wasn't. If not there you must include a command line that points to Java. Click on the new button. The next two variable MUST be type in exactly as I have them here. Under variable name type PATH (must be in caps). Under variable value type in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin. Click Ok, Ok, Ok and reboot your system for the changes to take place. This should take are of the not finding Java message. Also make sure you have the latest release of Java which is 6 build 17. Vista has 3 different program folders and I think Humviewer looks at only the first program folder and not the other two to find Java. This fix loads Java during initial bootup so Humviewer can see it. I hope this helps those with Humviewer and Vista problems
