Hi

I just updated my 798 ci Si HD Combo from ver.6.250 to ver.6.610.

I used the download from Hummingbird My Account.

It seems that everything works fine, except when I record in the simulation mode of the device.

I do not use 360, but normal sidescan

I can not play recorded DAT.filer on Hummviewer ver.67.

Snapshot are OK.

But not recorded DAT files.

I had no problems before using ver.6.250!

We are 4 boats with side-scan that exchange images with Hummviewer, so I can not use other programs.

Can you please help me?

There were changes made to an earlier version of software that changed some information in the recorded files.  It is my understanding that the Hummviewer software has not been modified to work with these changes yet.

You could reload the 6.250 software in your unit until the Hummviewer program gets changed.

I have checked a few times on the Humviewer site and the last version date shown is in 2010. My guess now is that Humviewer is no longer actively being maintained.  :(

Beings HB has changed their data format, it quite likely means if you are locked into Humviewer, then you will no longer be able to update your 798 past V6.25.

I have been looking for an alternative to Humviewer but haven't found an inexpensive option yet. I keep hoping that HB will do something with HumPC (I keep hearing rumors) to make it usable for more than just copying waypoints back and forth.

I have decoded the changes and will pass it on.  I am sure he can get back up and running in a week or so.  Its nothing major.

Thanks for your reply, I think I'm going to wait long for a possible update of Hummviewer !!!.

The changes that are made to ver 6,610 are important to me, so I will be sorry to return to ver 6,250 .

Many thanks for your kind suggestions, I'm waiting to see if you can help with my problem !!!.

I thought it odd that Hummingbird do not have their own viewer program, which they can update and edit after their scanners ?

It's bad service to all their customers worldwide.

We as customers ,should all ask Hummingbird to make a proper viewer program !!!.
