thank you i need to do it. another thing if you don't mind is it hard to learn to record and what do i buy ,  is there any think new to be added to my unit if have the bottom up date.

I would use a SanDisk Extreme III SDHC memory card for the sonar recordings.  Make it at least a 4GB if you are planning on making a few recordings but you can use larger if you expect to make many recordings.

Once you update the software in the unit that is it.  the features should be there – no other transducer or accessory to buy.

Using larger sd disck will let you put a lot of stuff on a card. But on the down side, the more you put the longer it takes to get to a free spot on the disk. Indexing being what it is.
Optimum performance is 4 to 8 gb and then dont keep stuff on the disk.  record it and then transfer it to the computer especially if you are recording sonar data.
Waypoints should be the exception as you will use them more often.
