I'm new to the forum and fairly new to the more advanced fish finders. I wasn't even aware that there was updates available for fish finders. In any event I am going on a vacation to do some fishing next week and decided to get navionics plus so I would have a starting point on places to fish. The navionics site recommended having the most recent updates for your fishfinder. Through researching that I found out there are updates for my 798ci hd si that i may want/need to install. I did some homework and figured out I currently have the software version 6.640. I believe the most recent available is 7.680? I also saw on Humminbird's website there is a 7.600 version. Both had a description of what they did. The 7.600 seemed to have much more to offer. Are the changes in the 7.600 version also included in the 7.680 update but just not listed? Do I need to istall the 7.600 then the 7.680? Any input would be greatly appreciated so I don't end up with a unit that doesn't work properly. In a nutshell I just want to ensure I have the best unit available for my trip that will support the navionics plus and have the most to offer. Thanks for any help in advance. The advice and knowledge of the users of this forum seem top notch and I can't wait hear from you guys.

If you registered your unit, the update and description of how to do the update should be in your account.
You only need to install the latest release.

So all the changes mentioned in the 7.600 version are included in the 7.680 version?
