Trying to load lake master chip at home on my 898 seems that it loaded but can,t pull up the lake that I,m fishing on can I look at if with out being hooked to gps on the boat boats on the lake 25 miles from my house thanks

You can but you will have to do so in the simulator mode.
Power the unit on as you usually would but when it shows the unit model name; press the MENU button and select SIMULATOR.  The unit will now simulate that a GPS Receiver is connected.  You will have to zoom out and move the cursor over to the lake you want to look at, but you can make use of the Set Simulator Position menu to have your unit start up in that location the next time you power it on in the simulator mode as menu changes will be remembered.
