Title: Transducer question for Helix 5
Post by: MadCatter on February 15, 2016, 08:43:37 AM
Is it possible to use a different transducer with the helix 5 SI GPS unit?   I would like to use the head unit with SI at my console and move it up to the bow when fishing.  Don't think I would need SI on the bow but would like to have 2d and possibly di on the bow. I've got some extra transducers laying around from older units and was curious if they would work.

What do you guys think?

Any of Humminbird's  83/200 transducers  will work...

If you connect a 2d only xducer to the HELIX 5 GPS ... Set the "Connected Transducer" menu under the Sonar tab to "Dual Beam" to shut off the SI transmitters ...
