Title: Article Submissions
Post by: RGecy on April 11, 2009, 03:52:21 AM
OK guys, I am looking for anyone who would like to demonstrate their creative side and write an online article.  I know we have fishermen and scuba divers from all around the world who are visiting these sites and would love to hear some of your stories.  It does not have to be specifically on Humminbird products, but that is the theme here.

Maybe you have used the HB SI Units to locate wrecks and would like to tell a little bit about some of your finds; history, interesting dives, or items recovered.  We certainly love pictures!  Or maybe your a fisherman and have some techniques for using the HB that you would like to share or maybe to talk about how SI has changed the way you fish.  And lastly, maybe get into the software.  You can talk about image editing, waypoint management, or working with the various softwares we have available to use.

What we will do is set up a special section for Article Submissions.  If you want to do it on a regular basis, so be it.  I will be happy to post anything you guys want.  There are a lot of you out there who have some great knowledge and skills to pass on to others.

I even expect one or two of the Humminbird Guys to write up something for us.  ;D ;D ;D

Let me know what you think. Any opinions or thoughts?

Robert

I'm sure that some of us Humminbird guys could post copies of how some of the menus and such work.

Naming of standards at HB:
A number of years ago we stop randomly names unit, her is a summary of what everything means:

Letters after the numerical name:
c      = Color Display
i      = Internal GPS
Si or SI     = Side Imaging
c2      = 2nd Generation Color Display
x      = International Unit
j      = International Japanese Language
A      = Chinese Unit (Asian)

Examples:
787c2xi = 787 with a 2nd generation color display, international unit with an internal GPS antenna
797c2j SI = 797 with a 2nd generation color display, international unit for Japan with Side Imaging
