Title: Helix 9mega si transducer doesn’t fit min Kota power drive riptide
Post by: Munchie on April 15, 2019, 11:24:50 PM
Hello all.
Does anyone know if i can swap out the helix 9 mega si transducer for another transducer that will fit the power drive riptide troll motor.
I have the helix 5 mega si transducer already installed on it . But wasn’t sure if I can use that transducer or are they compatible.
I have another helix 9 mega si g3n in back of my boat and wanted another in the front . So by the time I installed everything I noticed that the tranducer was to big to fit .
Anyone have any ideas.
Thanks

The "Connected Transducer" selection under the Sonar tab has many different options for connecting xducers other than the stock xducer that came with your HELIX 9  ...

HELIX 5 SI comes stock with the XNT 9 SI 180 T (Compact SI) xducer (HELIX 5 does not come in a MEGA version)  ...

HELIX 9 SI G3N will work with the XNT 9 SI 180 T  by selecting "Compact SI" in the "Connected Transducer" selection under the Sonar tab  ...

You will lose a lot of quality in imaging by not using the MEGA xducer that comes with the MEGA unit   ...

Thank you .
I wish I could use the same transducer, but it’s to long for my troll Motor and will hit the propeller.
When I did my research the paper work said it would fit a 80 thrust troll motor.
But didn’t say power drive riptide.
Do you think if I can find a different one for example a helix 8 mega di
Will it give me a better image.
I just care about 2d and di for the front not si.
Only reason I bought this unit because it was a killer deal for 2
I have the helix 9 si g3n in the back of the boat .

The listings in the "Connected Transducer" selection Menu under the Sonar tab will give the optional xducers that can be used with that specific unit  ...

As far as the actual length of each of those xducers you would need someone that actually owns a specific xducer to measure it  ...

HB might also be able to give you the length of specific xducers  ...
