Will this work with the sonar capable units?

Not sure what you are meaning by “sonar capable units” LocDown.  All of the units we currently build are sonar capable.

I didn't know if that would work with the sonar units.

I am not familiar with the Humminbird AIS receiver, but I have three Humminbird 1197 units and an 1198 connected to AIS Transponders from two other manufacturers that permit the AIS information to be displayed on the mapping screens of the Humminbird sonar units.

You have not specified whaich model of Humminbird soanr unit you are referring to, but it would have to be a unit that supports AIS input either via network or NMEA connection.

I would guess that the Humminbird AIS receiver would support network connection to a humminbird sonar unit, but if nothing else it should has NMEA output.

It would be like Mike/Diver said: If they are AIS capable they will work but any that use a GPS will be able to output the boat position data via NMEA 0183.
