Title: Japan Coast Guard message when turning on my Helix 7
Post by: Jesse on July 30, 2020, 08:00:50 AM
I was having issues with my Helix 7, so I decided to Restore Default settings. Now every time I turn it on I get the following message “ Approval by Japan Coast Guard 252509....” To clear it I press Exit and it goes away.

However, still not working properly, I cannot save my Tracks, cannot get rid of Japan Coast Gard message, every time I turn the unit on none of my tracks are displayed from the previous day.

Is this a used unit  ...??

It sounds like the custom text on the start up screen has been edited  ...

If true - the only way to get rid of it is to custom edit your preferred text in Humminbird PC and load into the unit  ...

Humminbird PC is free software at Humminbird.com  ...

I seem to remember there was a software version that did not retain tracks after a reboot  ...

Does the unit have current software  ...??
