Howdy ,
I'll give my set up info first then ask the ?
1. I have 2 Helix 10 MSI/MDI units ,1 is a G3N and the other is a G4N and a Terrova with US2 Sonar
2. I have a tiller and fish in the back of the boat so both head units will be mounted side by side in the back of the boat .
My question is , how do I network these units to get a split side imaging view , what i mean by that is left on one unit and right on the other .
Is it done with one transducer going to 2 units and then selecting the menu options to view left and right on each appropriate unit or by mounting both SI transducers and running the units separately and selecting left or right SI in the menu options ?

Each HELIX will need an AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter cable ...

Then you need an Ethernet cable long enough to reach between the 2 HELIX units ...

Then go into the Network Source Menu under the Network tab and set both units to use the same 2d/DI/SI ...
Then set one unit to left side only and the other unit to right side only in the SI Xpress Menu (1 Menu button press with SI displayed) ...
Note: this is a common installation with 2 units on the console because connecting a separate xducer to each unit (and transmitting at the same time) can cause crosstalk interference ... both units sharing one xducer eliminates this possiblitly of crosstalk interference ...

And the same menu selections would apply if i was running the units into an Ethernet hub too correct ?

You are correct my friend ... Ethernet is simply a path of data transfer - regardless of what Ethernet parts are encompassed in that path ...
