Title: 598 DSC compatible?
Post by: Yrral3215 on May 14, 2014, 01:16:30 AM
Im considering adding a VHF DSC radio to my boat.

The ones without built-in GPS are of course cheaper.

Will the 598 output the GPS location to a DSC capable VHS radio?

If so, is there a site with instructions? I cant find anything in the manual.

Thanks,

Larry

Larry,
The 598ci HD Si unit has an NMEA 0183 output, so if your DSC radio is compatible with that output it should work to provide location data for your boat.  You will need the AS-HHGPS cable for this.
