Title: Side Imaging Transducer Placement
Post by: Capt. Shodamane on August 27, 2012, 08:35:36 PM
Hey guys, I had posted a topic earlier about getting a new unit, the 998c. I would like your opinions on where to mount the transducer. I'm sure this question is asked a lot, but I'm also sure it probably varies with different models and boats. I am also planning to mount the actual unit on a RAM mount at the console. I can't figure out if it's best to mount on the gunwale, or the actual console... I am trying to attach photos so I apologize in advance if I can't get them to upload. Also, are there any RAM mounts you would recommend? I have read that certain mounts are stronger than others and I'm not quite sure which is the strongest. Also, I have a 2008 Nitro Z7 if that helps answer any of my questions. thanks guys, i will be picking your brain again in no time. :)

Click on "Media[644]" near the top of this page.
In the second column, click on "installation photos".
You should find a boat similar the yours.

Small world isn't it. We're in Charlotte on vacation a few years ago.
Wife says I'm always looking around like I'm going to see someone I know.
I told her that fellow standing over there is a Pa. State Trooper friend on mine.
No way. Hi Jeff, what's up. Undercover investigation. Bye.
