Hey Greg, thanks for the reply. I went with a separate battery rather than a voltage regulator. The battery is a 12AH, 12V. The wiring is stock, with a 3amp blade fuse in line. The unit draws 780MA/H so what ended up happening was I was on the water way longer than I had realized. From 4am to 3pm. SOOOOO I ran the battery at .8A for 11hours. So I ran a 12AH down for 9AH. I bought the battery with the intention of running the battery down 50% (6AH) or leaving the unit on for 7hours until I get off the water. I answered my own question. I either need to turn my unit off when not needed, or I need to get a bigger battery. Basically, my battery ran dead! Hopefully I didn't ruin the Deep Cycle battery too badly by running her down so low. I think I will use this battery for running back recordings at the house, and messing with the unit at home. I am going to try and get a voltage regulator set up for my main battery. Any ideas on where to get something like that? Does that sound feasible?
