Title: Humminbird 998c Si Combo Fishfinder question
Post by: Tomkat07 on May 01, 2012, 11:23:21 PM
It has in the specs

HD side imaging and down imaging.
Does this mean High Definition?

If so, do you need another transducer then the stock one it comes with for the HD?

I was looking into the 898 but it doesn't have HD if that's what this is referring to.

Thanks ,

Tomkat07,
Both the 898c Si and 998c Si units use the High Definition Side Imaging (HDSi) transducer.  This just means that they are capable of using the higher 800kHz Si sonar frequency.  Generally the higher the sonar frequency the better the sonar definition.

Ok thats great news to me then.
I was looking at the specs on these 2,
898 & 998 and noticed the 998 has HD.
So naturally I thought the 898 doesn't have HD scans.

Guess I'm still on track with getting the 898c SI combo then
By the 24th I will have 50% of my goal saved up!
