I have a 998c si head unit and want to temporarily put the ( original ) 360 transducer and head unit on a new boat for a short trip.   I'll probably be putting a full installation when I have the time but am not really wanting the side imaging right now.

Thanks in advance. Phill

A Humminbird 360 is an Ethernet based transducer and it functions independent of any other transducers installed or not installed. It works fine with both of my networked Helix 9s at the same time.
I don't know  the 998c si, so my question is does it have a Ethernet port on the back.  If not you are out of luck.

The connector from my 360 transducer is a circular 8 port connector.  There is separate power connector.  This is the first edition 350 transducer. I bought it when they were firdt released.   It does no look like what I think of as an ethernet connector.   I couldn't get through to humminbird support.

360 ethernet will connect to the metal connector in the center of the back panel of the xx8 series  ...

You may need latest software for that model (I'm not not sure)  ...
-----

As FishInLite mentions  ... 360 will work without any other xducer (or the AS GPS HS antenna)  attached  ...

An added 2d xducer (in any HB xducer) allows displaying depth on the 360 image  ...
An added AS GPS HS antenna allows displaying waypoints on the 360 image  ...

I went ahead and removed the components from my old yak and installed them on my new yak ( Oddly callled a Hobie "360" also ).
It appears it is going to work without installing the other transducers or gps.  I'll be bale to put it in water and confirm it is working by the end of the weekend.

Thanks, Phill

Version 6.74 added the capability for 360.  So, you would need that update or later when using the 360.  The latest update for the 998 is version 7.67 software.  I have the update files for the 998c SI model if needed, let me know.
