Title: interlink with 1197 5.32 not compatible with other units w/out 5.32

I can't find it now, but it seems I read that the interlink will not work with 1197 and other units unless both units are upgraded to 5.32.  If that is correct, when will a 5.32 update be available for the 788?

You are correct per Rhonda Green @ HB. I have no idea when the 5.320 will be available for the 700 series, hopefully soon.

Thanks for the reply.  What version for both the 1197Si and the 788c do I need right now to be able to use the interlink?

We have been told that both units do not have to be running the 5.320 software but that they both have to be running either:
 - 4.950 or lower software version (ideally they both should be running the 4.950 version).
 - 5.210 or higher software.  Although we are getting reports where some are running 5.210 or higher software on both units but the InterLink is still not working.  Our Engineering guys are looking into this.

I would wait to update your units until it all gets sorted out.

thanks for getting back to me, Greg.  I appreciate it.  The water is going to be open here soon.  Does anyone know of previous versions for both units so that they will play nice together now?  And if there are previous versions for both units, could you send me links for the download sites?

I thought of something else.  I have already updated both units to the most current software.  How would I go back to previous versions now, if compatible versions are available?

Go to the downloads section of this forum and select the units(s) and downloads the version to an sd.  Remember to only put on download on at a time (on the sd card)...

Call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks at 1-800-633-1468 and see if they have the 4.950 BETA software for your 788 and 1197 units.

Thanks, Greg.  I did call support today and the nice lady I talked to said it would be sent to me by email Monday afternoon.  I'll try to let you know if it works OK.  I'll try to keep checking for when the bugs get worked out of the new versions and update to them when it's ready.

I am also having the same problem. I purchased the 1198c and the 788ci di and as you the lady at Humminbird told me they would send me an email when thing get resolved. Last Thursday the was first time I got to get on the water and I couldn't figure out was going on until I called Humminbird. I hope it doesn't take them long!

latest update for 1197 is 5.320 and latest for 788 is 5.210, both are higher than ver 5.2 so you should be good to go, correct?

Correct.  But I think there have been some issues with these new updates on a different message thread somewhere.  I did download and install the versions that were referred to above.  They installed OK.  I haven't had a chance to try them out yet on the water.  Everytime I think I'm about to get the chance it snows ???

There have still been reports of InterLinks not working with both units having 5.210 (or higher) software.  Funny thing is: I’ve also heard from some that their units and InterLink work…  I would just wait until a new batch of software comes out before updating.
