Title: G2 models can not display bottom hardness & Vegetation?
Post by: October1 on March 11, 2018, 02:34:28 PM: So I'm on facebooks Humminbird Side Imaging page when a guy comes on there insisting that only G2N models can collect and display bottom hardness & vegetation. He say's G2's can not do this. This is BIG news to me as I was planning on buying a Helix 7 G2 soon. Dose anybody know if this guy is right about this?

Post by: FishSeeker on March 13, 2018, 08:04:05 PM: According to HB website Helix Product info - G2 models description does not mention LiveChart so I'd assume G2 models do not have it and only use existing compatible maps. G2N models come with LiveChart and can display Vegetation and Bottom Hardness if desired.

Only $100 Retail difference between them for the 2D only models, probably less from a Sponsor of this site.
LiveChart is well worth the extra $$ IMO.

I also found a compatibility list that showed the guy was wrong. He has since looked it up and found it has those options.

It's about time I'm able to help one of you more knowledgeable guy's on here for a change. lol Even if it is only for a simple reference chart.

Although I didn't see that specific model included in the LakeMaster chart provided by October1, but the H5 Chirp 2D(only)G2 model is also listed as having ACL, strange they left off the H7 model.....

Post by: October1 on March 16, 2018, 01:00:02 AM: One thing to keep in mind when looking at different models is if it doesn't have GPS it can't have ACL. Without GPS it wouldn't know where to put the depth contour lines.
