Title: Need Help to View Snapshots on PC
Post by: slabbandit on August 21, 2012, 12:00:05 AM
An older friend of mine just bought a 998 and I installed it on his boat. This was my first install and it went well. He doesn't mess with a PC much and has left his boat and unit with me to learn how to use it best for crappie fishing our shallow lake we live by. Average flats are 10 feet or less and the river channel averages 25 feet deep.
I tried to register his unit on my PC so I could view the snapshots and work with the waypoints but it just tells me to contact Humminbird. I downloaded Microsoft 9 today before I tried it. Any help getting my PC to view my snapshots would be appreciated.

Thanks

You don't need anything special to view snapshots on your computer.  You need a SD card in the 998 to save the snapshots to otherwise it won't work.  Select screen snapshot from the Accessories Menu Tab and select ON.  Make sure the Snapshot and Recording View is set to Visable in the Views Tab.  To take a snapshot from any view or cursor location simply press the MARK button.  This takes the image and saves it as a .PNG file.  To view it on your computer put the SD card into the computer and use any photo program to view it.  HB PC does not view images.  I hope this helps.  ;D
Cheers
