Hi,
Do I apologize for my weak English (my native language is Polish).
Yesterday my 997c worked correctly to some moment.
After a few hours the readings came very weak.
Unit doesn't show the structure of the bottom (2D).
I checked parameters and I know that 83KHz beam didn't work. In dual view (83/200) 83KHz looks like very shallow water (200KHz shows correctly depth but details of bottom are poor)
I checked transducer and looks ok.
200KHz, SI, DI - looks like worked correctly.
Could anyone help, where I should look for causes?
Unit?
Transducer?
Cables?

Power supply problem:
Charge up and load test your battery.

battery is charged by engine
unit i connected to big battery

It doesn't mean the battery is any good.
You need to have it load tested.

Battery is good, 12,2V (about 14V when engine working).
Several hours ago I made the test with dualbeam transducer and 83KHz worked correctly.

feeko:
Having enough voltage is only half of it.
The battery must have staying power.
If the battery is bad, it will drop below 10.5 volts when
there is a load/draw placed upon it.
That's what a load test does.
I had a battery once that charged up to 12.5 volts.
Then when I turned the sonar on, the voltage dropped
so bad, that it would not power the sonar.
The battery wasn't that old either.

Sounds like the 2D in your 997's HDSi transducer is going bad.
Replace your HDSi transducer: XHS-9-HDSi-180-T if it is a transom mounted version.
