I was hoping one of you could help me. I am about to install my 898 on my stratos and dont really know where to install the transducer. I know this is a popular question but i have seen many different answers on the net and quite frankly im confused. I would love to install it in the stepped hull above the centerline but from what ive read this will cause interfeerence with the intake lines. is this correct? should i move it to one side or the other? does it matter what side? any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

As long as the transducer is above the prop and water intake; it will not cause any problems. Without seeing your boat we won’t be able to make a determination on this. Try posting some pictures of the transom area of your Stratos and we can make some educated guesses as to the best mounting location(s). We would need pictures of the overall transom (from behind) and also pictures from each side of the transom looking across to the other side. Make sure that these are taken from a low angle – like about the height that a transducer would be mounted.

Check out some installed picture on this forum..You can do this with keyword search.
Try checking the image gallery also. There are pictures in both the gallery and in individual postings (use the search tab)..
Transduce placement is very boat type sensitive and has to take in several considerations with respect to transducer type..
You can find information in the postings..
