Title: Need some clarification on Side image ducer and what it reads
Post by: bayouxpress on January 05, 2012, 12:07:38 PM
Does the Side imaging transducer also produces 2d sonar images?  I know that on plane you need an additional 2d sonar ducer, but i'm talking about when idling around.

The HDSI transducer is a multi element transducer that provides 2D, DI and SI display. There are various transducers that act only as 1 or 2 functions. HB has many such transducers to select from...Some are base unit dependent..
It is best to visit the HB web site and look at each transducer description..

Its the unit that comes with the 798ci Si combo.  From reading the site it states side image and dualbeam plus sonar.  So i'm thinking it does.  i also sent this question to the place of purchase.

thanks

Yes it has both. It is a multi beam transducer (several elements).
