998c si link to 859ci hd di

I have a 998c si combo and a 859ci hd di and was told I can Ethernet link these two together. I bought the Ethernet dongles and the e cable but low and behold the 998 doesn't have the Ethernet plug on the unit. What are my options?

The 998 doesn't need the dongle.....The Ethernet cable connects directly to it.
